DESCRIPTION:
Book Exhibition IX

How Design Thinking Makes Change

15/11/2018 - 14/03/2019
Library, 2nd Floor, Wui Chi Building, MPI

How Design Thinking Makes Change

Design thinking is a methodology that imbues the full spectrum of innovation activities with a human- centered design ethos. This concept is rooted in David Kelley (The founder of the global design and innovation company IDEO. He also founded of the Stanford d.school- the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University), he believes thinking like a designer can help people transform the way to develop products, services, processes and even strategy.

The best example is Apple which has always used design thinking in its approach. Think of Steve Jobs, a man obsessed with the user experience. Jobs had a laser-focused mentality for products. He was notorious for driving people crazy searching for solutions in places no one had been before. His focus was on craft, empathy, and simplicity, Apple products to this day are the most user-friendly in the market, right down to the packaging. With design thinking, Apple created a new market, one that it now dominates.

The library will guide readers to gain a deeper understanding of design thinking by presenting our relevant collections, change the habitual thinking maybe you can be the next reformer.

View List of Books Exhibited

Further Reading Materials

Interaction Design Foundation

Harvard Business Review - Design Thinking Comes of Age

Harvard Business Review - Why Design Thinking Works

Design Thinking Foundry

Stanford University D.
